    Division 7 Commercial Roofing Assesments

    Division 7 Commercial Roofing

Using geovisual data management to streamline roofing estimates, inspections and project management

    Challenge

Division 7, like many large commercial roofing contractors, moved to adopt drones to perform roof inspections due to their inherent safety and efficiency benefits. Like many enterprises, they quickly encountered the drone data management challenge; given its unstructured nature and the vast number of image files created, it can be difficult to manage drone data and extract meaningful value from it. Even with this new drone data, they were not seeing the financial return on investment beyond the obvious safety benefits of reducing “boots on the roof”.

    Solution

When Division 7 adopted the Optelos visual data management platform, they immediately saw the financial benefits they were seeking. The platform allowed them to organize all their data by customer and use it to significantly reduce cost, improve the quality of roof assessments and takeoffs, and provide more detailed and accurate assessment reports to their customers. By utilizing highly accurate 2D orthomosaics and 3D Digital Twin models, they were able to identify and geolocate issues, improve quote accuracy, project delivery, and better determine material requirements.
